Professional Development Grants for Retirees Call for Proposals

The Office of the Vice President for Research and the University of Minnesota Retirees Association are pleased to announce the second cycle of awards intended to support retirees requiring financial assistance to pursue projects related to their research, instructional, or other work history and that contribute to the educational, scholarly and academic reputation of the University.

Grant-in-Aid of Research, Artistry and Scholarship Program
Application deadline: Feb. 1, 2010
Accepting Category 7 (Interim Support) applications only at this time.
This program represents an important means by which this office is able to promote the scholarly and artistic activities of the faculty and their graduate students and to foster academic excellence within the University.

Distinguished McKnight University Professorship Program
Nomination deadline: Feb. 1, 2010
The goal of the Distinguished McKnight University Professorship program is to honor and reward the University of Minnesota’s highest-achieving faculty who recently have attained full professor status—especially those whose careers have developed at the University, whose intellectual work and reputation are identified with Minnesota, and whose work has brought great renown and prestige to the University of Minnesota.
