Human Subjects' Protection Training & Requirements
U of M Training Requirements
The University of Minnesota requires a basic level of Human Subjects'
Protection Training for all investigators and research personnel
regardless of the source of funding.
Human Subject Protection Training for all personnel involved with a study
must be completed and its completion registered with Fostering Integrity
in Research, Scholarship, and Teaching (FIRST) before you can receive
IRB approval. This training requirement is designed to provide information
and guidance to faculty, professionals, and administrators to promote
the University's ideals for scientific and scholarly integrity, and to
minimize institutional risks.
For information on how to complete and register human subjects
training, see the
FIRST web site.
