Workshop Overview

Welcome to the Intellectual Property Online Workshop.

This workshop is part of the University of Minnesota's Fostering Integrity in Research, Scholarship, and Teaching (FIRST) program. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce you to information, examples, and resources about intellectual property issues that you may encounter in your teaching and research.

The workshop contains six modules:

2. Intellectual Property 101
3. Working with Intellectual Property
4. University Policies and Procedures
5. Intellectual Property Resources at the University of Minnesota
6. Conclusion and Case Studies/Assessment.

In addition to this workshop, numerous resources are available on this Intellectual Property Web site that you can consult for additional details about specific topics, such as patents, copyright, or intellectual property law. You'll find these resources listed on the left side of the Intellectual Property home page. Feel free to consult these individual resources at any time during - or after - the course.
