Nanobiotechnology Conference Announced for April 2010
November 2009 –The Consortium and the Joint Degree Program has organized an April 2010 conference focusing on nanobiotechnology and existing oversight systems. The program will start with a panel of experts presenting the challenges faced by nanobiotechnology, their recommendations on the subject, and then conducting break-out sessions focusing on nanoethics, risk assessment, public engagement, and law and regulatory approaches. This conference is intended for key stakeholders in nanobiotechnology oversight, students, faculty, attorneys, researchers, scientists, policymakers, and members of the public.
The Challenge of Govening Nanobiotechnoligy: Reinventing Oversight for the 21st Century conference will be held at the Hubert H. Humphrey Center on April 15, 2010 and more information including registration information, agendas, and specific speaker biographies is available on the consortium web site.

August 2009 --The IBC support staff has assessed several months of protocol submissions and it is apparent there are a few common issues delaying the review process. The following is a list of the most avoidable issues the committee sees. If researchers can address these concerns before submission, then they can expect a shorter timeline towards approval.
